Meta Ads vs Google Ads in Dubai: which should you run?
Meta wins for demand creation, off-plan launches, clinics and offers people didn't know they wanted. Google wins for demand capture, people already searching for what you sell. Most of my best-performing Dubai accounts run both, with budget shifting to whichever produces cheaper qualified leads that month.
The real difference: creating demand vs capturing it
Forget "which platform is better." The right question is where your buyer is right now.
- Meta (Facebook & Instagram) interrupts people while they scroll. It's unmatched for creating demand, new off-plan projects, aesthetic clinic offers, launches. You put the offer in front of a cold audience and generate leads at volume.
- Google Ads (Search) reaches people already looking. Someone typing "off-plan apartments Dubai Marina" or "laser hair removal JLT" has intent. Google captures that demand.
Which to run for each Dubai industry
Real estate (off-plan & brokerages)
Meta usually leads for off-plan and new launches, it creates demand and, with one isolated campaign per project and fast kill-decisions, can generate leads at AED 20–37 each. Google Search captures buyers already researching a specific project or community and brings higher-intent enquiries. Run both; compare cost per qualified lead.
Aesthetic clinics
Meta drives discovery and offer-led bookings (instant forms + WhatsApp to the front desk). Google Search catches high-intent treatment searches. Judge success on booked consultations in the CRM, not form-fills.
E-commerce / D2C
Google Shopping / Performance Max captures purchase intent; Meta drives prospecting and retargeting. The winning split is decided by ROAS, not opinion.
Why "both" usually wins, but only with tracking
The reason most Dubai accounts should run Meta and Google is simple: they answer different moments in the buyer journey. But running both is only worth it if you can see which one actually produces closed deals. That requires proper conversion tracking, CAPI, GA4, offline conversion imports and CRM sync. Without it, you're guessing, and budget flows to whatever platform reports the cheapest click rather than the cheapest customer.
On one brokerage account, budget concentrated on the two Meta campaigns generating leads at AED 20–37, while six underperformers were cut at 4–18x the winning cost per lead. Result: AED 7.9M of off-plan property from AED 13,869 of spend. That decision is only possible when tracking is clean.
